Characters: white crystalline powder, sweet as sucrose, easily dissolve in water, slightly dissolve in Ethanol & Methanol, melting point 92℃-96℃, boiling point 216℃ and caloric value same as sucrose 16.72kj/g. Absorb heat when dissolved and provide natural cooling sensation in mouth. 10% Aqueous solution pH value 5.0-7.0.

Xylitol Edible Characteristic

  • Xylitol has no Aldehyde or Ketone radicel, no Maillard Browning reaction when get heating, is good to produce different bakery foods.
  • Xylitol can promote multiplication of Bafidobactehum and beneficial bacteria in the intestines, to improve gastrointestinal function, is a widely used functional additive by its high activity.
  • Xylitol is not fermented by yeast, can be the inert substrate for microbe, food containing Xylitol can prolong own shelf life.
  • Xylitol has moisture absorption character, so the refection added in Xylitol will last longer softness than being added the sucrose, always used in making cakes, breads and etc.
  • Xylitol’s cooling sensation can enhance the taste of food with mint and spearmint.

GB2760-2007. Ministry of Health, approved that Xylitol is good to all food and can be used appropriately according to manufacture requirements.

Caution: Slower absorb in the intestines, not consume too much in one time. You may feel laxation threshold when you first eat according to different body constitution, and will recover soon after you adjust the dosage.
